What is the status of 3D-printing?
According to the information of the investment portal InVenture, on 16 September 2016, in Kiev at the NSC “Olimpiyskiy” was held the third exhibition-conference of advanced technologies of 3D-printing and scanning.
This year’ specialized event has broken all records compared to the previous: during a day the event was attended more than 1800 people and 27 corporate-exhibitors.
The organizers of the conference Smile Expo brought together leaders of 3D-printing sector, analysts, businessmen, investors and visitors, who are interested in future modification of living conditions in connection with the implementation and development of 3D-printing technology. Every year 3D-printing is becoming a competitive and attractive area for investment.
$ 16 billion, such investment volume is expected to be on the market for 3D-printers in 2016. If in 2015 there were 300 thousand devices, so we can imagine, that by 2017 the world market will reach the target of 920 000. Objectively speaking, today 3D-printing is the obvious leader of the speed of development and innovation.
According to IDC, the global market trends of 3D-printers are as follows:
- The market of CEE will soon reach $ 1 billion;
- China will give the dust to United States in deliveries of 3D devices;
- HP Inc. and Ricoh will take a place in the market of 3D-printing.
- More than 1/3 of 3D-printing capacity for commercial purposes will be implemented at the service bureaus, where will be provided the comprehensive services.
The industries where 3D-printers will “make money” become the sphere of prototyping, the production of finished products, medicine, dentistry, the fashion industry and education. Now all 3D-printers can be divided into 3 groups: personal, professional and industrial. The printer’ price has steadily decreased; it has fallen from $50 thousand to $10 thousand.

Another promising direction is the mixing of materials and its combinations. If last year we used about 20 combinations of materials for 3D-printing, now its number has already increased to 100.

We have created the world’s first passive house while it is mobile. We use 3D-printing to create house in the future. The technology of this construction is unique – 20cm wall which was created by us is the equivalent of 7, 33 m brick wall. We have patented this technology on 16 August 2016, and already have 1000 orders.”
Danila Prikhodko, “IMATEK-EXPO”, the head of 3D-technology, the speaker: “3D- print will bring the fourth industrial revolution. The main obstacle remains the absence of patents which significantly reduce the rate of development. 3D-printing makes it possible to create the detail for 2-3 hours it is 11 times faster than the traditional method. I think 2020 will reach the maximum integration of 3D-printing in the industry. The most prospective field is the introduction of 3D printing in the aircraft industry where weight reduction even per1gram shows a profit in 1-1,5 $. ”
