The Summer School program provides an opportunity to senior students and young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of each domain of intellectual property (IP) and of the role and functions of WIPO.
The program consists of lectures, case studies, simulation exercises and group discussions on selected IP topics, with an orientation towards the interface between IP and other disciplines.
A certificate of participation is awarded to participants who successfully complete the program requirements.
This two-week Summer School, offered jointly by the WIPO Academy, the State Finance Institution for Innovations (SFIIs) under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Scientific and Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Law Sciences of Ukraine (SRIIP), provides an opportunity for senior students and young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of IP, to gain an appreciation of IP as a tool for economic, social, cultural and technological development and to understand the role WIPO plays in the global administration of IP.
The program consists of lectures by eminent WIPO and external experts in the field of IP as well as case studies and group discussions on selected IP topics.
A certificate of participation is awarded to those who successfully complete all requirements of the program.
The Summer School is open to 50 senior students (graduate and postgraduate students) and young professionals from any field of study or discipline. The program is designed for candidates who wish to obtain deeper knowledge of IP.
All applicants are required to have successfully completed the WIPO distance learning General Course on Intellectual Property before the registration deadline. Please note that priority will be given to those who have completed the said course in the selection of participants.
Participants are responsible for their own travel to and from Kyiv, accommodation and living expenses during their participation of the program.
Applications must be submitted online with résumés, letters of motivation, and copies of passports (or identity cards).
Selected applicants will be notified two weeks after registration deadline.
